Affect&#233; &#224; l&#8217;&#233;cole de F&#232;s au Maroc, il a &#233;t&#233; accident&#233; &#224; S&#233;tif en janvier 1940 apr&#232;s avoir heurt&#233; un pyl&#244;ne au roulage. Rachet&#233; plus tard par St&#233;phane Lanter et Fran&#231;ois Minard, il repr&#233;sente aujourd&#8217;hui un t&#233;moin rare de l&#8217;aviation fran&#231;aise d&#8217;avant-guerre. Selon l&#8217;association, une fois restaur&#233;, il pourrait redevenir le dernier Simoun volant au monde.</p><p>Le Caudron Simoun reste un avion &#224; part dans l&#8217;histoire a&#233;ronautique. Il a &#233;t&#233; associ&#233; aux grands raids des ann&#233;es 1930, notamment avec Andr&#233; Japy, Maryse Basti&#233;, Maryse Hilsz ou encore Antoine de Saint-Exup&#233;ry. Marcel Dassault avait initialement envisag&#233; un bir&#233;acteur pour la France et un monor&#233;acteur pour l'exportation. Cependant, le gouvernement a pr&#233;f&#233;r&#233; l'inverse : un monor&#233;acteur pour la France (qui deviendra le Mirage 2000) et un bir&#233;acteur pour l'exportation. Cette d&#233;cision s'explique en partie par les co&#251;ts, car les gros bir&#233;acteurs &#233;taient financi&#232;rement hors de port&#233;e pour la France &#224; l'&#233;poque. Comme le disait Marcel Dassault, <em>"on est bien quand on a deux M53, on peut commencer &#224; discuter performance"</em>. L'objectif &#233;tait de rivaliser avec le F-15. L'avion reprenait la configuration du Mirage 2000, avec une voilure delta et un train d'atterrissage repris tel quel. Ce dernier pr&#233;sentait un inconv&#233;nient : un espace limit&#233; sous le ventre pour l'emport d'armement ou de r&#233;servoirs suppl&#233;mentaires. l'&#233;poque, optimis&#233;e pour des vitesses allant jusqu'&#224; Mach 2. Le moteur M53, con&#231;u d&#232;s les ann&#233;es 60, &#233;tait pens&#233; pour des vitesses supersoniques (Mach 2 et Mach 3) et des temp&#233;ratures &#233;lev&#233;es. Bien que le Mirage 2000 n'ait pas atteint Mach 3 &#224; cause d'une pouss&#233;e moteur un peu juste, le Mirage 4000 &#233;tait cens&#233; y parvenir facilement. Cependant, il n'a jamais &#233;t&#233; pouss&#233; &#224; ces vitesses extr&#234;mes, notamment &#224; cause des co&#251;ts et de la gestion des temp&#233;ratures.</p><p>L'esth&#233;tique de l'avion &#233;tait &#233;galement marquante, avec une silhouette imposante et une entr&#233;e d'air large. Le nez de l'avion, d&#233;pourvu de radar car il s'agissait d'un d&#233;monstrateur technologique, accueillait des &#233;quipements de test. L'absence de syst&#232;me d'armes complet et le manque d'un client &#224; l'exportation (malgr&#233; un int&#233;r&#234;t de l'Arabie Saoudite) ont scell&#233; son destin.</p><p>Une innovation notable &#233;tait la pr&#233;sence de canards, des surfaces a&#233;rodynamiques mobiles situ&#233;es pr&#232;s du cockpit, qui am&#233;lioraient la maniabilit&#233; &#224; basse vitesse et permettaient des incidences de vol &#233;lev&#233;es (jusqu'&#224; 30-35&#176;). Le train d'atterrissage, bien que robuste avec ses gros pneus, &#233;tait une reprise du Mirage 2000 et limitait l'emport sous le ventre. Les becs de bord d'attaque, tr&#232;s prononc&#233;s, contribuaient &#233;galement &#224; cette capacit&#233; de vol &#224; haute incidence.</p><div class="captioned-image-container"><figure><a &#169;lobservateuraerien</figcaption></figure></div><p>Le train d'atterrissage principal &#233;tait dot&#233; d'une seule roue, contrairement au Mirage F1 qui en avait deux pour une meilleure gestion en cas de crevaison. Le Mirage 4000 poss&#233;dait un car&#233;nage moteur imposant, ventil&#233; par un flux d'air pour le refroidissement, rappelant d'autres avions comme le F-101 Voodoo. Il est int&#233;ressant de noter que le Mirage 4000 fut le dernier avion Dassault &#224; &#234;tre &#233;quip&#233; d'un parachute frein.</p><p>Un d&#233;tail amusant concerne le syst&#232;me hydraulique, un peu sous-dimensionn&#233; pour la machine. Lors des d&#233;monstrations au Bourget, l'avion devait effectuer un palier horizontal apr&#232;s le d&#233;collage pour permettre au train d'atterrissage de rentrer, car une mont&#233;e imm&#233;diate &#224; la verticale aurait surcharg&#233; le syst&#232;me hydraulique. Contrairement au Rafale, il ne pouvait pas rentrer son train en vol invers&#233;. Ces compromis s'expliquent par le fait qu'il s'agissait d'un prototype unique, con&#231;u rapidement apr&#232;s le Mirage 2000, dont le but principal &#233;tait de d&#233;montrer la faisabilit&#233; technologique.</p><p>Enfin, on peut observer sous la voilure des becs de bord d'attaque qui se braquent &#224; des angles importants, et des servo-commandes (m&#233;canismes de pilotage des gouvernes) positionn&#233;s diff&#233;remment du Mirage 2000. Sur le 4000, elles sont externes et plus visibles, tandis que sur le 2000, elles sont int&#233;gr&#233;es &#224; plat pour r&#233;duire la tra&#238;n&#233;e. Ils se font globalement de plus en plus rares. Chalair Aviation favorisant plut&#244;t des ATR 42/72, plus grands donc, pour ses liaisons r&#233;guli&#232;res. En parall&#232;le, la disparition d&#8217;une grande partie des compagnies a&#233;riennes r&#233;gionales fran&#231;aises au cours des derni&#232;res d&#233;cennies, comme Touraine Air Transport (TAT), Air Inter et d&#8217;autres est le t&#233;moin d&#8217;une lente &#233;rosion. A ce jour, on liste moins de cinq compagnies a&#233;riennes r&#233;gionales en France : Chalair, Finist&#8217;air, HOP ! et Twinjet.</p>

En pilotage manuel, et en l&#8217;absence de rep&#232;res visuels, le copilote (PF) avait exprim&#233; son &#233;tonnement face &#224; l&#8217;inclinaison de l&#8217;appareil. Ce &#224; quoi le commandant de bord (PM) a r&#233;agi par une action &#224; piquer oppos&#233;e, entra&#238;nant des actions simultan&#233;es sur les commandes pendant pr&#232;s de cinquante&#8209;trois secondes. Cette situation avait provoqu&#233; une d&#233;synchronisation des commandes en tangage pendant douze secondes, avec deux &#233;pisodes brefs de d&#233;synchronisation en roulis. Ceci rend la pr&#233;vention du ph&#233;nom&#232;ne plus vuln&#233;rable &#224; l&#8217;erreur humaine. En effet, la transmission des commandes se doit ainsi encore plus d&#8217;&#234;tre verbalis&#233;. Cela reste cependant une proc&#233;dure fragile, surtout en situation de stress et dans des phases de vol critiques. </p><p>L&#8217;enqu&#234;te a aussi r&#233;v&#233;l&#233; que tr&#232;s peu d&#8217;exploitants avaient mis en place une surveillance syst&#233;matique de ce type d&#8217;action dans les donn&#233;es de vol. Toutefois, &#224; la suite de cet incident, l&#8217;exploitant a introduit un syst&#232;me de d&#233;tection syst&#233;matique des actions simultan&#233;es sur les commandes (notamment en tangage, durant plus d&#8217;une seconde), et a analys&#233; r&#233;trospectivement les donn&#233;es des cinq derni&#232;res ann&#233;es pour y identifier des occurrences similaires. Il en est ressorti qu&#8217;en 2022, le taux d&#8217;&#233;v&#233;nements enregistr&#233;s sur Boeing&#8239;777 &#233;tait de 0,4 pour 1&#8239;000 vols, une statistique comparable &#224; celle observ&#233;e sur la flotte Airbus de l&#8217;entreprise (0,44 pour 1&#8239;000 vols), alors m&#234;me que le signalement y est plus fr&#233;quent, gr&#226;ce &#224; l&#8217;alarme <em>"Dual input"</em>. A cette &#233;poque, le Skylark avait surpris par ses dimensions g&#233;n&#233;reuses et son &#233;l&#233;gance, contrastant avec les autres appareils de sa cat&#233;gorie.</p><p>Apr&#232;s une p&#233;riode de relative discr&#233;tion, le Skylark avait ensuite refait surface au Mondial de l'ULM de Blois, marquant une nouvelle &#233;tape dans sa conqu&#234;te du march&#233; fran&#231;ais. Ce renouveau est port&#233; par Ilia Gontcharov et son &#233;pouse &#201;va, dirigeants de la soci&#233;t&#233; <a href="https://noraero.fr/#">Noraero</a>, distributeurs de l'appareil en France.
